Today's the day, we all told ourselves. After two years of planning, two years we'd never get back, today was the day. It started out without a hitch. We went to our normal jobs, delegated by the Toa who ran this place. Fools. They never assumed, never even let it slip into their bloated, self-righteous heads that maybe we would escape. No. It couldn't be possible. Maybe it wouldn't have crossed ours, either, if conditions weren't so crappy here. We were beaten, starved, and degraded, which is NOT the way you want to fix the "dregs of society" like us. But I digress.

It started small. A prisoner or two "disappeared", the guards were sure it was just another murder. Security was loosened. That's when we took our chance. We overpowered what guards we could overpower, took what weapons we could, and torched that darn island to the ground. Hagah, that was their name for it. After some Toa Team of guardians. About 60 of us planned our escape. A quarter of that didn't make it, including my best friend. Crazy Piraka charged into a guard tower with an improvized explosive strapped to his chest trying to distract the sharpshooters. It wasn't pretty.

Anyway, we got to the teleportation devices that the prison inspectors used, but we found out they had already been switched to one-way when we sent five prisoners in and they came back in scorched body bags. Now we were stuck, and the Prison Board could fill the darn island with guards, cops, bounty hunters and the like whenever they wanted to. So, the 40 of us that were left went our seperate ways, figuring there was no way we could all get out in one big group. Now here we are, 40 murderers, thieves, drug cookers, and the like, trying to get off whatever's left of Hagah alive...and free.

Oh, happy days.

-Kellin (Prisoner #48104)

Locations

Hagah - The main island, home of the prison.

Hagah State Prison - Or what's left of it. The whole place was destroyed by the prisoners, and now only a few intact pieces of it are being used as bases for prisoners who are trying to form their own governmental system.

Free Hagah - The settlement constructed by the special police force that the Prison Board sent to quell the prisoners. Getting in here is murder, literally. The orders are shoot on sight unless you have the Guardchip embedded in your arm.

The Hagah Islets - There is a ring of dwarf islands surrounding Hagah, six to be exact, and each is named after a Toa Hagah.

Norik - The Islet of fire, Hakann, rival of everyone but himself, and second in command of the Prison board, resides here. The islet is no more than one miles in diameter, as all of the islets are. In the very center of this land of fire and lava is a black dome, burnt, with one entrance. Inside this base is Hakann and his soldiers.

Gaaki - The Islet of Water, this place is a small jungle with many rivers and small lakes, in the center of the lush jungle is a steel dome base, surrounded by about a hundred yards of dirt and sand. Vezok, the Piraka who lives and works there, doesn't like nature.

Iruini - The Islet of Air, it is basically a foggy island, with nothing on it but a gunmetal dome base, where Zaktan, the leader of the Prison Board, lives and works. Some very odd rumors come from this islet, such as the idea that Zaktan is the fog, or at least lives in it.

Pouks - The Islet of Stone, this small island is a metal box, surrounded by a force field, it's actually obvious that Avak lives here. No one is ever seen coming out, or going in, and nothing is known about the inside.

Kualus - The Islet of ice, it is a living mountain, just like the one on Xia, except it is under control by the islet's owner, Thok. The base on this islet is said to be deep within the mountain.

Bomonga - The Islet of Earth, it is nothing but a flat surface or sand, sinking sand, it is rumored to have it's base in the center of the sand pit. Reidak and his soldier dwell here, but they are rarely seen.

That's pretty much it. The smart ones don't generally stay in one place. It's an easy way to get captured or killed.

Factions

Prison Board - Otherwise known as The Piraka, six Skakdi who work for the Dark Hunters. They poorly run the island, and are the cause of the riot, and this whole problem with the Prison. Some say they were trying to make the Prisoners into a large army, but they backfired on them, and the riot began.

Prisoners - The 40 survivors of the Prisonbreak. They're generally not seen in groups, as it brings too much attention from the Board. They're mainly trying to get off the island alive, and all allegiances between them are fragile at best.

Natives - The residents of Hagah. They're abused by the Prison Board and treated bluntly by the prisoners, so it's not likely that they'd be too happy to see a member of either side.

Playable Species

Matoran
Toa
Steltian
Vortixx
Skakdi
Turaga

There are rumors that something went wrong with the teleporation devices when the prisoners tried using them, and a couple Black and White Makuta leaked out of some alternate dimensions. What a load of junk, huh?

Well, anyway, good luck surviving. I've told you all I can. Hope to see you in the free world, mate.

• BZP Rules apply, obviously.
• No god-modding (e.g. controlling someone else's character, having your character do something impossible). And if someone god-mods against you, don't do it back, tell a Prisonbreak Mod.
• This is a Text-Based RPG, so to join in you post what is basically a miniature story for what is currently happening to your character.
• Use IC for In-Character and OOC for Out-Of-Character.
e.g.:
IC: The Toa leapt from ledge to ledge, seeking the rogue Rahi.

OOC: Hey Randommember1, care to join in?
• Don't bunny (meaning control extensively) other peoples characters without their permission.
• Don't kill anothers character without permission.
• Unlimited Characters.
• No silliness such as suddenly turning everyone's swords into feather dusters and having a tickle-off. Believe me, it's not as funny as you think.
• Don't glory hog or continuously degrade someone else's character.
• Along with current restrictions you are not allowed any unreasonable elements (Life, Creation, or Time) and all characters are incapable of performing Nova Blasts. Light and Shadow are allowed, but only if you have a good enough reason deemed fit by a majority of the Prisonbreak mods. Custom species are allowed, but custom elements aren't. Current unusable masks are the Komau, Avohkii, Kraahkan, Mask of Creation, Mask of Elemental Energy, Aki, Rua, or any Kanohi Nuva.

The prisoner brushed past him, rubbing two fingers against Kellin's wrist.

Go.

He walked up to the nearest guard. "What do you need me to do, boss?"

The guard looked at him warily. "What are you talking about, Kellin?"

Kellin grinned. "Oh. See, that Toa of Earth over there just told me-" He stopped and twisted the guard's arm, causing a gasp of pain. It was quickly stopped when Kellin got behind him and snapped his neck, taking his sword and handgun.

"Let's get out of here, gents!" he yelled with a grin, and the prisoners roared high enough to catch the attention of any Dark Hunters within a 100 mile radius.

Including the guards.

And so it begins.

IC - Amorian Hagah State prison:

A howl broke from Amorian's mouth. In a flash he was on the nearest guard - a toa to his immense joy. He didn't wait; he leaped, landing on the guard's chest, and sank his teeth into the unlucky Toa's throat. He leaped off the corpse, ramming his spiked shoulder into the heartlight of another. His hand grasped a small knife at the side of this body. The Matoran's eyes glowed as his hand gripped the familiar feel of a throwing knife.

This riot couldn't have come at a better time; he was sure that several prisoners were already planning his assassination.

So far, it was working perfectly; the prisoners had gotten a glimpse of freedom and were grabbing for it.

He saw two guards coming, spun on his heel, drew his new gun, and shot both in the head.

He spun his gun, kicked down the door, and gestured into the hallway, receiving massive cheers from the prisoners in the process.

IC Ikod:

Ikod stood up slowly from the Cafeteria table, there had been some whispering amongst the table, and a guard had wandered over to find out what the chatter was about. Ikod quickly read the minds nearest him, and then left the table. A guard told him to sit back down, and Ikod just looked at him. "What?" he asked the guard, "I said sit down, now," the guard said to him, and Ikod shrugged, and said, "I don't want to sit down anymore, I want to stand up now," the guard walked over to force him into his chair, and right when the guard put a hand on his shoulder, Ikod grabbed him by the arm, and twisted him into a head lock.

The Guard started screaming for help, but help didn't get there before his neck was broken. "Sorry Garg," he whispered to the dead guard as the entire Cafeteria broke out into a riot within a few seconds.

Ikod had projected to everyone the situation; kill every guard you see, we're all getting out. Ikod himself smiled, and in no time, the second guard standing there was taken over by prisoners. Ikod took Garg's weapons, a simple sword and a gun, "Today's going to be fun!" he yelled out, projecting that thought everywhere.

In a swarm of prisoners, the Cafeteria doors broken off their hinges, and the next hallway was filled with angry, blood thirsty inmates. The guards had been spread out too thinly, and each one they came across was taken down faster than they could yell.

The mob spread out, killing guards, taking weapons, the riot had truly begun.

Kellin directed two of the prisoners to pick up handguns and cover him, then he kicked in the door to one of the guard lounges.

There were six guards. Kellin fired off three shots, each of them hitting a guard in either the chest or the head. He and one of the prisoners ducked behind a couch; the other was hit in the leg, and Kellin directed him to stay outside.

Kellin flipped the couch, firing off a shot at one of the guards as he did; it hit him directly in the heart and he fell. He heard the two remaining guards shouting into their walkie-talkies, requesting backup, so he blew out the speakers of the walkie-talkies, creating a miniature explosion that enveloped the heads of both guards.

He stood up, walked outside, and wrapped up the bullet wound of the prisoner so he couldn't bleed out, wishing him luck as he walked away. He couldn't get captured trying to carry someone else out.

IC Kpik:

Kpik walked calmly through a hallway, prisoners were running by him, shouting at him that the riot had begun. Kpik was actually smiling inside, although he didn't physically show it. A guard ran around the corner up ahead, and yelled at Kpik to freeze.

Well, he didn't specify who was to freeze. Kpik waved his arm at him and a large sheet of ice covered the guard. Now, if a being is flash-frozen, some would say they were preserved, well, it was the other was around in this situation, the guard was instantly killed, his organs froze up and shattered from the pressure of the ice around his body.

Kpik smiled and walked over to the large sheet of ice, he absorbed the ice, and took te guard's rifle, he would use this to kill many more guards.

And now was his chance, two guards ran around the corner and started firing once they saw the gun in his hands. Kpik instinctively dove to the side, simultaneously making a thick ice wall to hide behind. He made another ice wall at the other side of the hallway, and dove to it, firing a few bullets toward the guards while rolling.

he heard one guard collapse, ad the other took cover behind the corner. "Chicken," he said quietly to himself as he stood up and began to run down the hallway. The guard popped out from around his cover and fired at Kpik. Now, Kpik wore the mask of Fate, and that mask alone saved his life, he leaped into a roll, and sprung up, firing two rounds into the chest of the guard as he did so.

Kpik smiled again, this was a fun game, he already had a score of three, he wondered what the others' scores were, but did not linger on the thought.

He rushed down the hallway, taking out as many guards as he could without injuring himself, and if he was unable to kill the guards, he would plan an escape, and abandon the battle.

Kellin saw a guard charging at a Toa of Ice (OOC: Kpik) and fired off a shot into his head as the poor fool raised his rifle.

He picked up the rifle, moved his new sword to its sheath, and strapped the rifle to his back, fingering his pistol's trigger.

He clapped the Toa's back as he moved next to the second guard's lounge.

"Seven guards and counting," he whispered to himself with a grin.

IC Kpik:

Kpik heard the words seven guards, and he decided to follow this person, he wanted to rack up kills too. He walked up to the lounge's door, and calmly opened it. To his surprise, there were next to none guards in the lounge, but he did kill a bartender guard.

He looked around the lounge, nobody. He supposed they had all started to do their jobs and go fight the riot. He turned to Kellin, "The worst is still upon us," he said, walking out of the lounge and down the hallway, he needed to find some more guards.

IC Ikod:

Ikod slit the throat of yet another guard, "And that makes five!" he yelled out gleefully, and his comrades yelled a cheer. "Let's go find some more!" he shouted, and the savage-like group of inmates moved into another room.

Immediately, two of his friends dropped dead to his side, and he took a bullet scraping to his side. He dropped down to the ground, clinging to his gun, and scrambled to a desk for cover.

Swears and all other bad-mouthing filled the air, nothing uncommon in a fight. With a yell, he came from around his cover and shot down two of the guards, while a third was shot to pieces (almost literally) by the rest of his group. He got up slowly, and put a stone band on his arm, it would stop the bleeding at least. With all the guards in that one room taken care off, the more cautiously moved to the next room, and began to use more and more strategy in their skirmishs.

After a few more rooms of guards, and a couple hallways, they came upon an office, one full of guards. When Ikod peered into the door window, he saw rows of guards, and these weren't normal security prison guards, these were trained soldiers from some freaking army.

He cursed, and told his group the situation; there were two options, one, run in there and shoot them all up, or two, run away. Ikod never liked running away from a fight, so he made a third option, they would find more prisoners and then take on this militia.

He projected his thoughts to the group, and they all agreed, he told them to spread out and to come back to this location while he waited by the door and silently read their minds.

Nobody knew he had a mask all this time except his closest friends, the guards had been unaware of this, it was times like these when Ikod was happy his mask had been fused onto his head... but he still didn't remember how it had gotten that way.

"It is strange, they have not alerted the entire prison yet, and we have killed many so far," he said, kicking open another door along the hallway, he found three guards, who appeared scared out of their minds, when he went to shoot them, they raised their hands and dropped their weapons.

"DON"T SHOOT, FOR THE LOVE OF MATA NUI, DON'T SHOOT!" one of them yelled.

Kpik decided to be merciful, and he only took their weapons, he reloaded his rifle, and gave Kellin the two handguns filled with ammo. He looked at the guards, "You could have killed us, but you are all so scared, you forgot you had weapons," he said, he didn't want these three guards regaining any confidence or anything, so he walked out of the room, made sure Kellin was as well, and closed the door, freezing it tight solid as he did.

"They'll be dead by morning," he told Kellin, because some really sick prisoner was going to come along and find them, and they would be killed.

Kpik made a secondary wall of ice, and hid behind that while he absorbed the larger wall of ice in the middle of the room. He shouted out, "Are you guards, or prisoners?" of course, he knew that if they were guards, they were probably going to lie so they could shoot them, these guards weren't normally stupid, they had SOME brains. If they were prisoners, they might ask the same question.

"You tell us who you are first!" somebody yelled.

Kpik listened to the voice, it sounded... deep, to deep for a Toa, and too light for a Skakdi.. he couldn't figure out if it was a prisoner or not. He peered around his wall of ice, and saw four oddly shaped beings, varied in size and look, Kpik deduced they were Dark Hunters. Some kind of species he had never seen before.

They must have been prisoners. Most prisoners didn't wear anything, guards and officials all wore similar armor, it was very easy to tell them apart. "We're prisoners," he said out to them, and he stood up slowly from behind his wall.

The four beings lowered their weapons, "Good, then we're on the same side," a brutish looking being said. Kpik signalled for Kellin to stand, and holstered his handgun.

"Alright, enough chat, I say we head out now and go exterminate some guards," he said, the four beings nodded, obviously they hated the guards as much as he did, every prisoner here hated the guards.

He moved on, eventually come to an office. He entered said office, and he saw something odd, he saw a guard crouching right in front of him, peeking around a desk, like he was hiding from something.

"Hi," he said, and the guard gasped, looking at him, the guard tried to shoot him, but Ikod already had his weapon aimed, the guard didn't even get to turn around before he was shot dead.

"Ha ham that's what you get for camping," he told the dead guard. He stood up, and looked around the room, there were three other dead guards near him, and one person he thought he recognized.

He quickly read the being's mind, and he confirmed his thoughts, "Hello Kellin!" Ikod said, walking toward the Toa of Sound.

Kellin stood and smiled. He knew the figure; he was a prisoner he had chatted with sometimes during lunch hours.

"Ikod!" he said with a smile. "It's good to see you, mate."

He ripped off a bit of the lead guard's uniform and wrapped it around his shoulder before creating a high-pitched soundwave that he sent into his shoulder, shattering the bullet. He then repositioned the cloth to the bullet would, stopping the bleeding and giving him back full mobility of his arms.

"Since you're in here, I'm assuming that you cleared out the other rooms."

Good ol' Ikod.

He turned and opened the door, revealing Kpik and his two prisoners at the door.

"Alright, let's all regroup and head out. Kpik, Ikod, Ikod, Kpik."

He turned to the dead prisoner and closed his still-open eyes in a term of respect and laid him out peacefully.

IC Ikod/Kpik:

Ikod sighed, "Sad that is, I hate seeing dead comrades." He looked away from the dead prisoner, and turned to the others, "Well, I've come bearin' not-so good tidings, we've got some new type of guard on our hands, they're big, ugly, and they were wearing some strange time o' armor. I'd say they've brought in their big guns now," he told them. He didn't feel good with these new guards around, but he knew they had a good chance together.

Kpik looked at this strange new being, "I've never seen your kind before... do you have any powers of Kanohi?" he asked bluntly.

Ikod chuckled, "No hello or hi or nothin'. Well, yes, I do have an element, and a mask, a suletu, and I control stone. Darn architects, they had to change the prison to metal, and now I'm really stuck in here." He chuckled at that thought.

"Alright, pop quiz, what's your element and Kanohi?" he asked Kpik.

"Ice, and I wear a Calix," he told Ikod.

"You don't really seem the athletic type..." he mumbled. "Anyways, we should be moving on now, I suggest we keep our eyes peeled for those new guards, while continuing our rampage at the same time," he said, walking out of the office, and into the hallway he had just come from.
