First topic message reminder :

Today's the day, we all told ourselves. After two years of planning, two years we'd never get back, today was the day. It started out without a hitch. We went to our normal jobs, delegated by the Toa who ran this place. Fools. They never assumed, never even let it slip into their bloated, self-righteous heads that maybe we would escape. No. It couldn't be possible. Maybe it wouldn't have crossed ours, either, if conditions weren't so crappy here. We were beaten, starved, and degraded, which is NOT the way you want to fix the "dregs of society" like us. But I digress.

It started small. A prisoner or two "disappeared", the guards were sure it was just another murder. Security was loosened. That's when we took our chance. We overpowered what guards we could overpower, took what weapons we could, and torched that darn island to the ground. Hagah, that was their name for it. After some Toa Team of guardians. About 60 of us planned our escape. A quarter of that didn't make it, including my best friend. Crazy Piraka charged into a guard tower with an improvized explosive strapped to his chest trying to distract the sharpshooters. It wasn't pretty.

Anyway, we got to the teleportation devices that the prison inspectors used, but we found out they had already been switched to one-way when we sent five prisoners in and they came back in scorched body bags. Now we were stuck, and the Prison Board could fill the darn island with guards, cops, bounty hunters and the like whenever they wanted to. So, the 40 of us that were left went our seperate ways, figuring there was no way we could all get out in one big group. Now here we are, 40 murderers, thieves, drug cookers, and the like, trying to get off whatever's left of Hagah alive...and free.

Oh, happy days.

-Kellin (Prisoner #48104)

Locations

Hagah - The main island, home of the prison.

Hagah State Prison - Or what's left of it. The whole place was destroyed by the prisoners, and now only a few intact pieces of it are being used as bases for prisoners who are trying to form their own governmental system.

Free Hagah - The settlement constructed by the special police force that the Prison Board sent to quell the prisoners. Getting in here is murder, literally. The orders are shoot on sight unless you have the Guardchip embedded in your arm.

The Hagah Islets - There is a ring of dwarf islands surrounding Hagah, six to be exact, and each is named after a Toa Hagah.

Norik - The Islet of fire, Hakann, rival of everyone but himself, and second in command of the Prison board, resides here. The islet is no more than one miles in diameter, as all of the islets are. In the very center of this land of fire and lava is a black dome, burnt, with one entrance. Inside this base is Hakann and his soldiers.

Gaaki - The Islet of Water, this place is a small jungle with many rivers and small lakes, in the center of the lush jungle is a steel dome base, surrounded by about a hundred yards of dirt and sand. Vezok, the Piraka who lives and works there, doesn't like nature.

Iruini - The Islet of Air, it is basically a foggy island, with nothing on it but a gunmetal dome base, where Zaktan, the leader of the Prison Board, lives and works. Some very odd rumors come from this islet, such as the idea that Zaktan is the fog, or at least lives in it.

Pouks - The Islet of Stone, this small island is a metal box, surrounded by a force field, it's actually obvious that Avak lives here. No one is ever seen coming out, or going in, and nothing is known about the inside.

Kualus - The Islet of ice, it is a living mountain, just like the one on Xia, except it is under control by the islet's owner, Thok. The base on this islet is said to be deep within the mountain.

Bomonga - The Islet of Earth, it is nothing but a flat surface or sand, sinking sand, it is rumored to have it's base in the center of the sand pit. Reidak and his soldier dwell here, but they are rarely seen.

That's pretty much it. The smart ones don't generally stay in one place. It's an easy way to get captured or killed.

Factions

Prison Board - Otherwise known as The Piraka, six Skakdi who work for the Dark Hunters. They poorly run the island, and are the cause of the riot, and this whole problem with the Prison. Some say they were trying to make the Prisoners into a large army, but they backfired on them, and the riot began.

Prisoners - The 40 survivors of the Prisonbreak. They're generally not seen in groups, as it brings too much attention from the Board. They're mainly trying to get off the island alive, and all allegiances between them are fragile at best.

Natives - The residents of Hagah. They're abused by the Prison Board and treated bluntly by the prisoners, so it's not likely that they'd be too happy to see a member of either side.

Playable Species

Matoran
Toa
Steltian
Vortixx
Skakdi
Turaga

There are rumors that something went wrong with the teleporation devices when the prisoners tried using them, and a couple Black and White Makuta leaked out of some alternate dimensions. What a load of junk, huh?

Well, anyway, good luck surviving. I've told you all I can. Hope to see you in the free world, mate.

Rules

• BZP Rules apply, obviously.
• No god-modding (e.g. controlling someone else's character, having your character do something impossible). And if someone god-mods against you, don't do it back, tell a Prisonbreak Mod.
• This is a Text-Based RPG, so to join in you post what is basically a miniature story for what is currently happening to your character.
• Use IC for In-Character and OOC for Out-Of-Character.
e.g.:
IC: The Toa leapt from ledge to ledge, seeking the rogue Rahi.

OOC: Hey Randommember1, care to join in?
• Don't bunny (meaning control extensively) other peoples characters without their permission.
• Don't kill anothers character without permission.
• Unlimited Characters.
• No silliness such as suddenly turning everyone's swords into feather dusters and having a tickle-off. Believe me, it's not as funny as you think.
• Don't glory hog or continuously degrade someone else's character.
• Along with current restrictions you are not allowed any unreasonable elements (Life, Creation, or Time) and all characters are incapable of performing Nova Blasts. Light and Shadow are allowed, but only if you have a good enough reason deemed fit by a majority of the Prisonbreak mods. Custom species are allowed, but custom elements aren't. Current unusable masks are the Komau, Avohkii, Kraahkan, Mask of Creation, Mask of Elemental Energy, Aki, Rua, or any Kanohi Nuva.

Credit to The Power That Is for the above rules (with some modifications).

IC: Einhver stalked slowly through the jungle. He hadn't liked the look of the criminals in the area, so he had walked away, following the Vortixx.

Of course, he had lost them after a bit.

But now the sound of a boulder crunching through a boat hull guided him over to them.

"You're the one thinking like a fool, the guards will blow us out of the water if we go that way, even at night, heck especially at night," he said. "The only way we'd get out is by... by fog..." he said, the one thing he hated the most would get him off this Mata Nui forsaken island.

"We need Elf, and Raeir, we make a big enough fog, we can get out, and they'll never know... we just need a couple of rowboats, and we'll be out of here before we know it!" he said, almost yelling.

IC: Cipher followed, saying nothing of the display that played out before him, keeping a stony face.

Died with his honor, huh?

I don't support what he did, but...

No sense wasting energy arguing that could be used for survival. Better get camp started.

"This is a good spot," Cipher said levelly, as they reached a roughly circular clearing. "I'll get us some wood." he said, sweeping his gaze over the surrounding trees.

Selecting one, he charged, leaping into the air and twisting his hips over, bringing one knee to his chest.

With a sharp cry, he lashed out in a flying sidekick, heel driving into the trunk like a piston. The force of the collision rippled through the martial artist, who gave a satisfied smirk as the trunk bent and finally snapped free. Hefting the newly made log onto his shoulder, he dragged it to the middle of the campsite, beginning to examine it and plan the divisions to be made into firewood, shelter, and the like.

IC: Riaril heard the shot.

Racing to the source, she arrived in time to hear the exchange and arguments.

She glanced numbly at the body. "Died with his honor?" What kind of nonsense is that? She was used to death, but not necessarily killing. As such, her emotions were... conflicted.

She slowly trailed Cipher and Kellin, lost in thought. Suddenly, a sharp cry rang through the forest. Her head jerked towards the sonud, just in time for her to see the falling tree and sidestep before she was crushed.

Taking deep breaths, she forced herself to calm down from the sudden shock, as she watched the fallen tree rise and move toards the clearing. Inquisitive, she followed. Those two are pretty strong if they can lift tha-- she began to think, cut off by sheer disbelief when she saw that it was just Cipher carrying the huge weight.

As he dropped it, he glanced up, noticing her. "Hey." he said, waving his acknowledgement and returning to his scrutinizing of the log.

IC: Feyrren

"Has anyone seen Elf and Raeir since last night?" asked Feyrren, walking out of the warehouse. "Me, Ikod and Dorian were the first awake, and I didn't see either of them when we left. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen Elf since the Toa whacked the Steltian."

IC: Dorian

Dorian looked up and saw Riaril and Cipher. He got up and walked towards them. "Have either of you seen Kellin?"

OOC: Raz, Kellin left in the middle of the night.

IC: Kakashi

The Toa of Plant Life got up, stretching, and grimaced at the thought of the battle he had won the previous day.

He got up and decided to try and find a way out of the prison by the end of the day. He'd plan from there.

IC: Hualn

Hualn finally came to a crashing stop on the ground floor of Hagah, and moaned weakly as the rubble fell after him, landing on him with a CRUNCH. He gasped for breath, grimacing in pain, as the rubble began to deaden his limbs. As black overtook his vision and he slipped into unconsciousness, he thought he saw a Toa of Sonics walking towards him...

IC Ikod:

Ikod looked over at Feyrren, "I was wondering the same thing... I think they decided to leave us alone... heh... the moment we need them, they're gone, they never left us alone in that cavern," he said, thinking back to that day he made, and ended his alliance with Vezok... he personally couldn't believe he had begun to work for Vezok, and in the same day the big blue man ended up dying.

Ikod shook his head, "Let's just get outta this place already, it's making me sick every second I have to look at it," he said. He walked up to the dome base, and walked through the front 'door', off toward the tunnel that led back to Hagah.

---

IC Kpik:

Kpik woke up, and absorbed his ice dome, which had lasted through the hot night. He looked around, and saw Dorian, Cipher, and that doctor Toa all standing in a clearing. He walked over there, "What's going on?" he asked, noticing the log that appeared to be cut cleanly from it's roots.

Now he was more confused, "Did you guys do that? Or did Axonn just walk through here?" he asked, looking at the large log.

IC: Cipher glanced up at the arrival. "Nope." he said simply, beginning to split branches off of the trunk with quick, surgical chops. Tired, out of practice, and slightly atrophied as he was, he soon began to get lost in the routine.

This caused him to completely miss Kpik's arrival and subsequent query.

Thankfully, Riaril was perfectly happy to answer for him, by way of thumb over the shoulder and disbelieving expression on her face.

IC: Riaril's eyes widened, and she acted faster than she thought possible, perhaps thanks to the urgency of the situation.

As such, her hands shot upwards, each firing a pressurized bolt of water at the fireball, each colliding in an explosion of steam. If they were lucky, anyone who saw would take it as a particulary low flying cloud.

Levelling a withering glare at the Toa of Fire, she launched into a verbal assault.

"Are you insane? Do you have any idea how stupid that was? Just yesterday, we escaped from the belly of the beast, and what's the first thing you do? Why, send up a signal flare! Tell them right where we are! How do you call yourself a mercenary if it takes so little to set you off enough that you stop thinking?!"

Meanwhile, Cipher, still off in his own little world, had finished the branches. Now, for the trunk itself.

Dorian turned to Riaril, ready to scream, but stopped as he saw the pain reflected in his own eyes. Memories bounced through his head, memories of a Toa of Sonics, a fake, a pretender with the mask to back him up, and suddenly, memories of his own family, who had warned him about the road he was headed down to the very point where he had left.

In his anger, memories of Vezok, Kellin, Cipher, and...his father. Oh, god, no.

You will never be ANYTHING, Dorian. I built my name in this city, no, I built this CITY, for YEARS, and you can manage to destroy my good name in an entire MINUTE. You are NOTHING. You are not my SON, you are not a TOA, you are not even worth the ashes you've created today.

To his credit, a deep crack appeared, running down the center of the log.

The Martial Artist's brow furrowed in a mix of frustration and befuddlement.

Digging his fingers under the log, he grit his teeth and flipped it over, finally fully splitting the log with an axe kick.

IC: Yep, I've gone and done it. Makes sense, too. I haven't felt to be at my best since I stepped into the Pit, be it by getting used to combat underwater, sheer exhaustion, or being cooped up in a cell, probably drugged by something in my food, likely a narcotic of some sort.

I should've known as soon as I got into that fight with Dorian. He's creative, and picks up on things well, quite reminiscent of someone else I know. That said, he gave me much more trouble than he should have. If I was anywhere near as good as I was before this, that fight should've ended in one shot.

Yeah, as soon as I get off this rock, I'm going to Derrum Isle, find my way to Aensetr, challenge a certain two guys I know(one in particular), and hopefully stick around long enough to get back into peak condition.

IC Kpik:

"I don't think anyone knows Kellin... him and I never spoke much, and I don't recall him saying a whole lot to any of you," he said, looking over at the log that Cipher recently split in two.

"What's the purpose of this?" he asked, turning toward the log and Cipher.

IC Ikod:

Ikod walked through the tunnel to Hagah, he didn't exactly care if anyone was behind him, and didn't bother to check with his mask, he needed to get to the others, and explain the new plan to them.

He came up to the ladder leading to that smelling bathroom, and climbed up it, and out of the hole. He quickly exited the bathroom, and was walking down the hallway toward the hole in the prison wall.

He noted how broken down the prison seemed, holes littering the walls, fires abundant, and dirt and blood smeared everywhere one looked. It was a sad sight, this used to be nice, clean, dirt free almost, the difference was literally night and day, it had been only yesterday that the riot began, and Ikod was dismayed at the amount of damage that had been inflicted in that short time span.

He came upon the large jagged hole in the prison wall, electric wires shooting sparks, and metal bars jutting out here and there, he stepped through the hole, and set his foot upon the grass that lay outside the prison.

He set his other foot out of the prison, and was on his way, using his mask and landmarks that were around the forest, unusual shapes of nature, and certain rocks, he soon found his way to the campsite.

He walked in, and left in almost the same amount of time, all he needed was a record of what had been said and heard and seen while he had been gone, and he was off toward the small group of others. He felt Cipher, Kpik, Dorian (who seemed upset) and Riaril.

He strolled over to them, looking at the distressed Dorian. He looked at Kpik, and stuck out a thumb at the upset Toa, "'sup with him?" he asked, and Kpik shrugged, "Oh well," he said, walking over to Dorian.

"Something wrong?" he asked, refraining from diving into his mind to find the answer, if a Hitman like Dorian was upset as he was, it was best not to look around in his mind, specifically his past. As he waited for an answer, he glanced at Cipher, who was doing something with a large log.

IC Raeir:

Raeir climbed out of the hole, pulling Elf up a second later, he looked around at the forest they stood in, it was the same forest that Raeir had been standing in last night, when that Toa killed the Steltian.

"They're somewhere around here, I think, they might have moved, maybe made a camp or something somewhere," he said, scanning the area as best he could with his eyes.

"Alright, let's go," he said, taking off in one direction, he knew how to follow tracks, especially if they were only 12 hours old. He followed the many footprints that littered one path, a muddy path, thankfully, with deep dried tracks that could be spotted from above the trees even.

He followed these tracks, hoping that they led to the people he had ditched last night.
