Hey, guys, Riglax and Legolover are back with a fresh new look for the site, celebrating the new partnership between MNI and Plast! It's been quite some time since the forum had such a major change - and the last major change was moving from the Bionicle: Untold forums to our current ones.
As you read this, you may be asking, "Why the heck?" Well, since the Autumn of 2011, the admins have been constantly trying to improve the navigation around the forums. Forum descriptions, weird graphics and images were added, changed, and replaced in an attempt to make the forum more snazzy. When we customized the homepage message to provide links to the various projects, new forum rules and other tweaks, I looked back at the forum and realized, "Wow, we've come a long way since the forum was a huge clutter in the downtime," and that gave me a thought.
That the forum, using the current tools available to me, was perfect. There was nothing we could improve on. So, I went ahead and made a planning forum, and created new graphics and edited colors - only to realize I was just looking at the same darn forum. The best course of action was to go custom, and to do that, we'd have to make a basic drop down menu for the forum. Unfortunately, I couldn't add it here because forumotion had banned direct HTML editing in Invision forums. Disappointed, I teamed up with LL to created a new forum based on PunBB, planning on later applying it here. And this day has come.
Well, what does this new skin provide? It's mainly characterized by the new drop down menu, which speeds up navigation between the KJP Site and the forum by 40% (and, no, we didn't make that percentage up). The new look, alongside the reorganized forums, is much sleeker and snazzier than before. With the launch complete, the KJP Launch Committee forum has been disbanded. All topics that were created inside that forum have been moved into their respective Plast! Productions forums (KJP launch-related in the KJP Forum, SMSS-related into the SMSS, WS-related into the new WS Forum, etc.). An Art Gallery forum has been added for members to post their artwork.
We hope you enjoy the new skin - we've put a lot of work into it, whether it was custom coding or simply a color change.
Special thanks to Legolover-361 and Celu for their great help.
