First topic message reminder :

Today's the day, we all told ourselves. After two years of planning, two years we'd never get back, today was the day. It started out without a hitch. We went to our normal jobs, delegated by the Toa who ran this place. Fools. They never assumed, never even let it slip into their bloated, self-righteous heads that maybe we would escape. No. It couldn't be possible. Maybe it wouldn't have crossed ours, either, if conditions weren't so crappy here. We were beaten, starved, and degraded, which is NOT the way you want to fix the "dregs of society" like us. But I digress.

It started small. A prisoner or two "disappeared", the guards were sure it was just another murder. Security was loosened. That's when we took our chance. We overpowered what guards we could overpower, took what weapons we could, and torched that darn island to the ground. Hagah, that was their name for it. After some Toa Team of guardians. About 60 of us planned our escape. A quarter of that didn't make it, including my best friend. Crazy Piraka charged into a guard tower with an improvized explosive strapped to his chest trying to distract the sharpshooters. It wasn't pretty.

Anyway, we got to the teleportation devices that the prison inspectors used, but we found out they had already been switched to one-way when we sent five prisoners in and they came back in scorched body bags. Now we were stuck, and the Prison Board could fill the darn island with guards, cops, bounty hunters and the like whenever they wanted to. So, the 40 of us that were left went our seperate ways, figuring there was no way we could all get out in one big group. Now here we are, 40 murderers, thieves, drug cookers, and the like, trying to get off whatever's left of Hagah alive...and free.

Oh, happy days.

-Kellin (Prisoner #48104)

Locations

Hagah - The main island, home of the prison.

Hagah State Prison - Or what's left of it. The whole place was destroyed by the prisoners, and now only a few intact pieces of it are being used as bases for prisoners who are trying to form their own governmental system.

Free Hagah - The settlement constructed by the special police force that the Prison Board sent to quell the prisoners. Getting in here is murder, literally. The orders are shoot on sight unless you have the Guardchip embedded in your arm.

The Hagah Islets - There is a ring of dwarf islands surrounding Hagah, six to be exact, and each is named after a Toa Hagah.

Norik - The Islet of fire, Hakann, rival of everyone but himself, and second in command of the Prison board, resides here. The islet is no more than one miles in diameter, as all of the islets are. In the very center of this land of fire and lava is a black dome, burnt, with one entrance. Inside this base is Hakann and his soldiers.

Gaaki - The Islet of Water, this place is a small jungle with many rivers and small lakes, in the center of the lush jungle is a steel dome base, surrounded by about a hundred yards of dirt and sand. Vezok, the Piraka who lives and works there, doesn't like nature.

Iruini - The Islet of Air, it is basically a foggy island, with nothing on it but a gunmetal dome base, where Zaktan, the leader of the Prison Board, lives and works. Some very odd rumors come from this islet, such as the idea that Zaktan is the fog, or at least lives in it.

Pouks - The Islet of Stone, this small island is a metal box, surrounded by a force field, it's actually obvious that Avak lives here. No one is ever seen coming out, or going in, and nothing is known about the inside.

Kualus - The Islet of ice, it is a living mountain, just like the one on Xia, except it is under control by the islet's owner, Thok. The base on this islet is said to be deep within the mountain.

Bomonga - The Islet of Earth, it is nothing but a flat surface or sand, sinking sand, it is rumored to have it's base in the center of the sand pit. Reidak and his soldier dwell here, but they are rarely seen.

That's pretty much it. The smart ones don't generally stay in one place. It's an easy way to get captured or killed.

Factions

Prison Board - Otherwise known as The Piraka, six Skakdi who work for the Dark Hunters. They poorly run the island, and are the cause of the riot, and this whole problem with the Prison. Some say they were trying to make the Prisoners into a large army, but they backfired on them, and the riot began.

Prisoners - The 40 survivors of the Prisonbreak. They're generally not seen in groups, as it brings too much attention from the Board. They're mainly trying to get off the island alive, and all allegiances between them are fragile at best.

Natives - The residents of Hagah. They're abused by the Prison Board and treated bluntly by the prisoners, so it's not likely that they'd be too happy to see a member of either side.

Playable Species

Matoran
Toa
Steltian
Vortixx
Skakdi
Turaga

There are rumors that something went wrong with the teleporation devices when the prisoners tried using them, and a couple Black and White Makuta leaked out of some alternate dimensions. What a load of junk, huh?

Well, anyway, good luck surviving. I've told you all I can. Hope to see you in the free world, mate.

Rules

• BZP Rules apply, obviously.
• No god-modding (e.g. controlling someone else's character, having your character do something impossible). And if someone god-mods against you, don't do it back, tell a Prisonbreak Mod.
• This is a Text-Based RPG, so to join in you post what is basically a miniature story for what is currently happening to your character.
• Use IC for In-Character and OOC for Out-Of-Character.
e.g.:
IC: The Toa leapt from ledge to ledge, seeking the rogue Rahi.

OOC: Hey Randommember1, care to join in?
• Don't bunny (meaning control extensively) other peoples characters without their permission.
• Don't kill anothers character without permission.
• Unlimited Characters.
• No silliness such as suddenly turning everyone's swords into feather dusters and having a tickle-off. Believe me, it's not as funny as you think.
• Don't glory hog or continuously degrade someone else's character.
• Along with current restrictions you are not allowed any unreasonable elements (Life, Creation, or Time) and all characters are incapable of performing Nova Blasts. Light and Shadow are allowed, but only if you have a good enough reason deemed fit by a majority of the Prisonbreak mods. Custom species are allowed, but custom elements aren't. Current unusable masks are the Komau, Avohkii, Kraahkan, Mask of Creation, Mask of Elemental Energy, Aki, Rua, or any Kanohi Nuva.

Credit to The Power That Is for the above rules (with some modifications).

IC: "Ah, Kellin. The supposed matermind behind these escapes. I hear he was very good at his job before he was sent here."

While she kept a lighthearted exterior, inside she began to worry. Cipher and Kellin, in the same group? Those two were both forces to be reckoned with seperate. Together? They meant job security a whole lot of trouble. She had a feeling dorian wouldn't be the last person she'd need to take care of.

IC: "Well, I was wondering about something that doesn't exactly add up." she said, taking a deep breath. She was on potentially thin ice here.

"What's a nice guy like Cipher doing here? I mean, he isn't like most of the other inmates, he seems genuinely good-hearted. I know he's supposed to have escaped from The Pit, but what was he doing down there in the first place?" she asked, growing more and more puzzled as she thought of it.

"He doesn't act like a criminal at all. what could he have done to get thrown down there?"

OOC: Sorry for the giant wall of text, but some things just need to be covered. Like where Riglax and I were the last few pages Tongue

(And the NPC Toa of Water should definitely become a PC, she's pretty cool)

IC Trip:
Trip looked cautiously around the corner, Ath at his side.

The two had made their way to the prison under the cover of darkness, and jumped down into the lower levels through the burnt out walls. They scaled down beams and pillars, trying not to breathe in the ash and hoping the charred floors would not give away under their weight. They finally descended to the lowest levels and made short work of the unaware guards, as few as they were. The lights had long been restored- those that weren't destroyed, anyways.

Trip and Ath; a prisoner built from the ground up, and a prisoner ready to rip the ground up. Neither was fully living, both were aided by mechanical implants of various functionality. Trip was all one blueish hue and Athillion was a patchwork of colors and armor... both so unique yet with so much in common. Would they embrace their common ground, or would they clash against their difference? All of this was on Trip's mind.

The android tightened his grip on the gun he looted from a dead guard. It was semi-automatic, with questionable ammunition. There wasn't any time to check- Trip's sensitive audioreceptors picked up voices coming through the wall. They were on one of the upper floors now, where the fire didn't have a chance to spread before being quickly subdued. If his records were accurate, the prison supervisors should be up here...

...Except that there wasn't anyone up here- the entire area was deserted. It seemed that whoever was up here, they had long gone.

"Ikod!"

Trip's voiced echoed hollowly through the hall, around corners and through the collapsed walls, reaching deaf ears of corpses. He loosened his grip on his weapon, turning to Athiliion.
"There's nobody here," he said, his voice saturated by dejection. Except, what were those voices?
Trip leaned to the wall and listened again... there they were again! The sound seemed to be coming from under him. To Athillion's bewilderment, Trip dropped to the ground, and put his head against the dirty, cold floor. They were directly beneath the two infiltrators and seemed to be moving away- they sounded lost.

The android stood up again, and without turning to his companion, said, "Go find Ikod, if he's even here. I think I just found some new recruits."

And with that, Trip took two steps back, pointed the gun at flame-weakened floor in front of him, and fired.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

The roar of gunfire was deafening and the the wild flashing light that was emitted light up the dim hallway. Trip heard a click indicating that he was out of bullets and dropped the empty weapon, jumped into the air, and braced for impact. The floor collapsed under weight, sending a loud echoing crash throughout the prison. As the android emerged on the next floor, stone rained down and electrical wires sparked, dust filling the air and making a dense saturated cloud around Trip, glowing blue form the lights within his chest and all over his body.

As the eerie scene calmed down, Trip found himself looking at two very shaken, very odd prisoners- a matoran and a Vortixx. Trip stood up straight, noting that they carried no visible weapons, nor were they hostile.

"Welcome to the breakout party club," he announced to the two, who were looking at each other uncertainly. They still had their prisoner tags on, and in an instant Trip had scanned and identified them.

To their unending surprise, the powerful android looked into their eyes and said, "Einhver, Feyrren... follow me."
He turned around and began walking towards the exit, knowing they would follow. He failed to find Ikod, but maybe these two would make up for that. As he passed the gaping hole in the ceiling, Trip looked up at Athillion who was looking down and told him to meet with the others in the Forest when he was done searching for Ikod.

"So... what were you two in here for?"

IC: Dorian

Dorian sighed, the drugs wearing off momentarily in confusion. "I told him the same thing when I was fighting him. Apparently, he got LOST in the Pit, fought his way out, and ended up being thrown in here. The mutations back up his story, but..."

He sighed, letting the feeling of apathy wash back into him, and with it, the words Cipher had echoed into him before landing a leg kick into his chest.

I don't want your pity.

He grinned and asked, "So, what's a nice girl like you doing working for a tool like Vezok?"

IC: Feyrren

Feyrren pulled Einhver aside and behind a wall, stopping the bullets from hitting them.

"Whoa, bro!" cried the Vortixx. "You done?"

Then, he listened to the figure's explanation.

"I'm in because one of my friends had me deliver some black market tech to a contact of his without telling me what it was. When the door opened up, the guy behind it put me in handcuffs. My appeal never came, and I was stuck in here. 'til now, anyway."

"He got lost?" she repeated, in disbelief. "How does someone manage that?" she asked rhetorically. Nobody's sense of direction could be that bad.

She sighed, having a feeling this question would come up eventually. "Well, let's just say that my family had some debts with the Dark Hunters, and I offered to pay them. They accepted, and now I'm working here. i don't know if I'll ever see them again, or even if they're alive." she said, glumness slightly creeping into her voice.

"But hey, at least I know I helped them with this." she said, sounding almost as if she was trying to reassure herself, if anyone.

OOC: Spawn, Dorian is acting too much like Kellin.

IC Ikod:

"Well, it's been long enough, I think, I'll go check on the poor guy," he said, leaving the room to find Dorian, wherever he was.

He had an odd sense that he was being thought of... or that someone was looking for him, with unknown intentions.

OOC: Trip. Um, DH, how do you intend to find Ikod if he's on Gaaki?

IC Raeir:

Raeir had gotten Vvryn to stand, and he was using his staff to keep himself up. "Try not to break it, okay?" he asked, and the Steltian nodded. The two walked to the hole in the ceiling, where Raeir told Vvryn exactly where to stand so that he could blow him up there with powerful winds.

At first, the Steltian wasn't so happy wit the idea, but with no other way to get up, he agreed at last.

Raeir began ti use gale force winds to lift him, and stronger, and stronger, anyone looking into the hole lighter than Vvryn would have been blow back by the incredible amount of force pushing.

Raeir gave Vvryn one last shove, with a force so large it made hurricanes seem wimpy. Vvryn flopped up outside the hole.

Raeir gasped for air, and filled his lungs with the substance. "Whoo, that guy is heavy, I'm not gonna lie," he said, using his air power to leap up and out of the hole.

"Oh, hi," he said, looking at Kellin and Kpik, who were standing there.

IC Kpik:

"At last, I thought you guys would never come," he said, ignoring Raeir's extreme exhaustion and Vvryn's not being able to stand.

Otherwise they can asume he's dead. They don't know he's apparently defected, yet. I like that you can feel me looking for you all the way in Gaaki, no matter how creepy that is Tongue

IC: Several minutes later, Kakashi was nearing the end of his rope even as he sidestepped a swing of a sword. His mask, which had been used prior to the fight twice two escape from the prison, had only enough to juice for one, maybe two more teleportations if he stretched it. He had been forced to use his element many more times than he'd like to, and only had enough left to block and substitute for only a few more attacks. And he was becoming physically tired as well. Being forced to dodge surprise attacks almost every second was bad enough, but it got worse when he was forced to dodge them.

But the ironic part was, he realized while ducking under another cleaving swipe, that for all his supposed genius, he had gotten practically nowhere. This guy had become truly a demon in his eyes. Speedy. Able to predict teleportations without breaking a sweat. Strong. And nigh unstoppable. Worst of all, the forsaken spawn wouldn't give up. Kakashi had tried to run away many times, but each time, his foe had popped up again, charging after him doggedly. And even when he dodged attacks, it was as though his foe's will was so powerful that it projected itself from his body. Attempting to dodge a kick now, The Scarecrow stepped backwards.

Not backwards enough, evidently, as something hit him in his gut and sent him flying. Landing on the ground-hard-definitely wasn't part of the plan.

Looking up, Kakashi decided he was getting nowhere as the spawn advanced. He suddenly flashed his eyes to right next to a hole in a wall as far away as he could see in the harsh firelight-

-And the next instant he was stepping around to hide behind it automatically, brain whirling as he finally gambled and attempted to figure out what his enemy's mysterious force was. Maybe, if he got lucky, he could use it to his advantage. Just maybe...

Gears spinning in his head, Kakashi remembered everything he had found out. Okay. So, the demon had cut through both his straw and the senbon, despite the fact that he hadn't seen them for even a second when they were suddenly sliced in half and blown away. From both encounters, he also deduced that the force had a range of around one sixth of a meter. Otherwise, the attacker wouldn't have needed to charge. Remembering the kick, though, he suddenly frowned. There was no way that the force had extended only a sixth of a meter-he was at least a third away.

Maybe he can concentrate it, he thought, shrugging. Anyways, he also appears to levitate. Kakashi hadn't spotted it at first, but in the close proximity of the combat, he had seen that the guy's feet were constantly floating off the ground. More precisely, around one sixth of a meter off the ground.

Could it be telekinesis? Nope. The element of Air? No. So what was it?

Putting the facts together, he nearly shouted 'Eureka!'. That was it. This guy wasn't psychic. Neither was he some kind of midget toa. He was like a giant lung-constantly expelling air. That was how he was able to float, cut through the straw automatically, and even enhance his attacks, evidently because he could control where he expelled air, though not the 'when'.

That did mean that none of Kakashi's remaining plants, unfortunately, could stop the guy. But what could?

The answer suddenly pounded in his ears, and The Scarecrow looked all around as he smiled a genuine smile through his exhaustion. He had figured out how to defeat his enemy. Now, just to use the last of his powers...

When Hualn flew through the doorway, the first thing he noticed was that his enemy was panting and down on one knee, looking with trepidation at the mercenary come to finish the job. He smirked. Evidently, Straw Man was trying to take a moment to rest and recover. Too bad the merc didn't intend on letting his foe finish.

Charging forward with renewed force, he sheathed his sword. It would be useful no longer. Instead, as he flew, Hualn formed air claws to magnify his own, swiping as he dashed-

-Towards the empty space where his foe had been just seconds ago.

Slowing nearly to a halt momentarily, Hualn pivoted his eyes this way and that for Straw Man's escape. He soon found it in the form of a branching hallway coming off the one his foe had intended to rest in, merely one unable to be seen when he first entered due to its perpendicularity to the entrance hall.

Turning, Hualn spun and charged towards his exhausted foe, who was just getting up in the middle of the other hall. This time, Hualn instinctively knew, was it. Straw Man had become too weak to continue combat, and it showed. He grinned, slashing once more-

krrAK

-Hualn frowned momentarily, halting. What was that sound coming from above him? He looked up, having nothing to lose-

-And that was when the ceiling hit him, rocks smashing into and through his first layer of armor, smothering his exhales as he was buried in a pile of rubble-

KRUNCH

-But before he even had time to wonder how it had happened, the floor beneath his feet ground and opened as well.

Normally, the floor of Hagah Prison would be strong enough to easily hold the weight of several tons of rubble. But due to recent injuries inflicted upon it in the escape, it gave way beneath the weight of Hualn and the rubble surrounding him, splitting into several parts as well beneath the feet of the trapped Grazonurus.

Smashing downwards, the pile of materiel dropped through several more floors as it continued on its merry way, not stopping as parts of it came off. However, it did become slowed down just enough that in one more floor, it would most likely stop falling...

Meanwhile, a shocked Kakashi gazed at the hole in the floor nearly beneath his feet, even as the wreck he caused continued to fall.

His plan had been to send a tiny network of roots into the ceiling above him via gaps in the walls of the prison (which had caused his panting earlier on), then suddenly cause the roots to expand with the very last drops of his power The expansion was planned to create a large 'ceiling-slide' that would incapacitate the stranger, for a few hours at least. Due to the wind armor softening the blow of the tons of weight upon his foe's body and the fact that it would continuously regenerate to chip away at his prison, Kakashi had been sure that the swordsman would be not killed, only incapacitated. But he didn't factor in the fact that the floor had been so weakened that it opened up nearly below his feet, even though the slide had only hit ground four bios away from him, at least.

Silently praying to the Great Spirit that no one was down there, he turned and staggered off down the hall. As soon as he found a safe, isolated place here, he'd sleep the best night's worth in his life.

OOC: Hualn V. Kakashi is officially over. I'm really sorry about the length XP Anyways, anyone want to meet an exhausted Kakashi, or meet the pile of rubble that's currently descending?

Ikod strolled down the hallway toward the room that Dorian was currently in. He felt around in the rooms around him for minds, identifying the people he was spying on. Eventually he found Dorian, and one other person, in a room. He wasn't getting good vibes from the room, in fact, the vibes were sad.

He walked inside the room, where Dorian and the doctor (who was female, he noted) were talking to one another.

Normally, a prisoner like him would hit on the Doc, but he wasn't exactly a Toa. He looked at Dorian, reading him memories, and the Doc's, he just stared at Dorain for a few moments.

"Say," she began, confusion evident in her voice. "Wasn't that a prisoner that just walked though here?" she asked, shifting her gaze back at the melancholy mercenary.

"What's up?" she asked, concern in her tone.

Dorian snapped out of it. Prisoner...

The hallucinations around him started to fade. That jump in his head...

He grabbed her by the hand. "We need to get off this island and to Hagah. Now. We should get-"

Ikod. Time to see who's side he was really on.

IC: "I-uh-wuttha-ah-huh?" she stammered, suprised and confused at the sudden action and shift in personality.

"Get who? Why should we leave? What's happening?" she asked at around a million miles a minute, confusion starting to turn to panic, for reasons she didn't really understand.

Taking deep breaths, she forced herself to calm down. She was a medic, for Artahka's sake. She should know how to stay calm in an urgent situation.

"Calm down," he said, "just...let me explain as we walk."

The drugs had worn off in his sudden ride back to reality, and with them, a new realization.

Vezok is going to kill me.

He sighed and held his hands to his handsome face before lowering them. The answer's obvious, Dor. Say it.

"We no longer work for the Dark Hunters."

IC: As she was dragged along by Dorian, Riaril just kept getting more and more confused. Was he still high?

"What? Why?" she asked, remembering her debt. She couldn't just quit now, could she?

"No," he whispered, guessing her thoughts. "I'm not high. Thing is, the Piraka all have these...bombs...that will kill us at a moment's notice. Now, listen to me very carefully, becuase both of our lives depend on what you do and say in this place. I swear, Ria, I will help you find your family once we get out of this place, but first, we have to get OFF this island, with control of as many of the bomb's as..."

He held up a finger. "The other five," he said with a grin. "Wait here." He had learned a few techniques during his fight with Cipher, and his former teammates were how they would be put to the test." He counted to three and spun out from behind a pillar, doing a midair roll as he fired off two bullets, which hit the Toa of Earth in the legs, sending him down. He ran towards the other four, going into an L-shape as a bullet was fired at him, barely skimming him. He caught the Toa of Ice's head in between his ankles and threw him down, aiming a stomp into the back of his head.

That left three. The Toa of Water came at him, trying to create a sphere of water around his head to drown him, but Dorian snapped his fist forward into her face, sending her into the wall. Dorian ran towards her, but stopped as a knife came spiraling at him from her oustretched hand. He caught it and threw it directly at her, embedding the knife in her hand. He launched a double front kick (a trick he had picked up from his battle in the tunnel) into her face, sending her down, and he pulled the knife from her hand and spun it cleanly at the Toa of Air, watching him crumple. The Toa of Stone flung a large boulder at him, but Dorian mainly dodged to the side, ran forward, and did a clean sweep with his leg.

Thirty seconds later, five Toa lay on the ground in various states of knockout. He went over to each of them, took their nuke key, and grinned. He was about to call Riaril over to follow him when he heard a clap and caught a glint of a Skakdi-like grin.

"Dorian. I assume you received your severance package."

IC: Riaril instantly flattened herself against the wall, already connecting with various sources of water if she needed to fight.

IC: Cipher ran after Kellin, easily keeping pace. "I'm with you, right?" he asked.

Vezok. This wasn't part of the plan.

"Vezok," he said with a grin, "I see you still haven't been killed by a mutant Spine Slug. Tough luck, that."

He stood with the grace of a veteran, the kind that everyone present knew could morph into a killing blow in a nanosecond.

Vezok sighed, after the briefest of pauses. "Too bad you won't get to enjoy retirement, Dorian," and he launched a dagger at Dorian's shoulder. The Toa launched a fireball at the projectile, watching as it burned up and turned to ash in front of him.

"Alright, then," he said, "You asked for this."

BATTLE: VEZOK VS. DORIAN

Dorian ducked Vezok's blow and kicked his elbow, sending Vezok's arm into a plank position. Dorian took the arm and swung, flinging Vezok against a wall. The Piraka stood and fired off two Zamors, one of which skimmed Dorian's ribs, exploding as it made contact with the wall and leaving the room clouded in smoke. Vezok stood, moving his Harpoon around anxiously, waiting for Dorian to-

BANG!

A gunshot skimmed Vezok's temple from behind him, and the Piraka was hit by a monster headache, knocking him out of commission for a second. That was all the young hitman needed to scissor kick Vezok, land a monster round of punches into the Piraka's ribs, grab his head, knee him, and throw him against the hallway, picking up the Piraka's weapon and nuke key as he soared through the air. Dorian created a giant cage of fire around him, grinning as Vezok tried in vain to find a way out. The Piraka drew a pistol, but Dorian snapped his fingers, sending a mini inferno in the shape of a snake into the gun barrel as the gunpowder clicked. Vezok cried out in pain as the gun exploded in his hand.

"I quit," said Dorian quietly, as he threw the weapon cleanly at the injured Piraka's chest.

IC: Thinking quickly, Riaril acted. whirling around the corner, she flung two orbs of water at the flames, resulting in a huge plume of steam that acted as a smokescreen, saving them from being trailed.

She quickly ran up alongside Dorian. "Well, what now? After this, we've got the whole series of islands on our heels." she said between breaths.

Dorian sighed. Vezok was dead, and they had all the keys to the nuke. Except for one.

"We need to go to Hagah. There's somebody I need to see."

He turned to Riaril. "I meant what I said. When we make it off this island, I'll stick with you until we find your family."
