First topic message reminder :

Today's the day, we all told ourselves. After two years of planning, two years we'd never get back, today was the day. It started out without a hitch. We went to our normal jobs, delegated by the Toa who ran this place. Fools. They never assumed, never even let it slip into their bloated, self-righteous heads that maybe we would escape. No. It couldn't be possible. Maybe it wouldn't have crossed ours, either, if conditions weren't so crappy here. We were beaten, starved, and degraded, which is NOT the way you want to fix the "dregs of society" like us. But I digress.

It started small. A prisoner or two "disappeared", the guards were sure it was just another murder. Security was loosened. That's when we took our chance. We overpowered what guards we could overpower, took what weapons we could, and torched that darn island to the ground. Hagah, that was their name for it. After some Toa Team of guardians. About 60 of us planned our escape. A quarter of that didn't make it, including my best friend. Crazy Piraka charged into a guard tower with an improvized explosive strapped to his chest trying to distract the sharpshooters. It wasn't pretty.

Anyway, we got to the teleportation devices that the prison inspectors used, but we found out they had already been switched to one-way when we sent five prisoners in and they came back in scorched body bags. Now we were stuck, and the Prison Board could fill the darn island with guards, cops, bounty hunters and the like whenever they wanted to. So, the 40 of us that were left went our seperate ways, figuring there was no way we could all get out in one big group. Now here we are, 40 murderers, thieves, drug cookers, and the like, trying to get off whatever's left of Hagah alive...and free.

Oh, happy days.

-Kellin (Prisoner #48104)

Locations

Hagah - The main island, home of the prison.

Hagah State Prison - Or what's left of it. The whole place was destroyed by the prisoners, and now only a few intact pieces of it are being used as bases for prisoners who are trying to form their own governmental system.

Free Hagah - The settlement constructed by the special police force that the Prison Board sent to quell the prisoners. Getting in here is murder, literally. The orders are shoot on sight unless you have the Guardchip embedded in your arm.

The Hagah Islets - There is a ring of dwarf islands surrounding Hagah, six to be exact, and each is named after a Toa Hagah.

Norik - The Islet of fire, Hakann, rival of everyone but himself, and second in command of the Prison board, resides here. The islet is no more than one miles in diameter, as all of the islets are. In the very center of this land of fire and lava is a black dome, burnt, with one entrance. Inside this base is Hakann and his soldiers.

Gaaki - The Islet of Water, this place is a small jungle with many rivers and small lakes, in the center of the lush jungle is a steel dome base, surrounded by about a hundred yards of dirt and sand. Vezok, the Piraka who lives and works there, doesn't like nature.

Iruini - The Islet of Air, it is basically a foggy island, with nothing on it but a gunmetal dome base, where Zaktan, the leader of the Prison Board, lives and works. Some very odd rumors come from this islet, such as the idea that Zaktan is the fog, or at least lives in it.

Pouks - The Islet of Stone, this small island is a metal box, surrounded by a force field, it's actually obvious that Avak lives here. No one is ever seen coming out, or going in, and nothing is known about the inside.

Kualus - The Islet of ice, it is a living mountain, just like the one on Xia, except it is under control by the islet's owner, Thok. The base on this islet is said to be deep within the mountain.

Bomonga - The Islet of Earth, it is nothing but a flat surface or sand, sinking sand, it is rumored to have it's base in the center of the sand pit. Reidak and his soldier dwell here, but they are rarely seen.

That's pretty much it. The smart ones don't generally stay in one place. It's an easy way to get captured or killed.

Factions

Prison Board - Otherwise known as The Piraka, six Skakdi who work for the Dark Hunters. They poorly run the island, and are the cause of the riot, and this whole problem with the Prison. Some say they were trying to make the Prisoners into a large army, but they backfired on them, and the riot began.

Prisoners - The 40 survivors of the Prisonbreak. They're generally not seen in groups, as it brings too much attention from the Board. They're mainly trying to get off the island alive, and all allegiances between them are fragile at best.

Natives - The residents of Hagah. They're abused by the Prison Board and treated bluntly by the prisoners, so it's not likely that they'd be too happy to see a member of either side.

Playable Species

Matoran
Toa
Steltian
Vortixx
Skakdi
Turaga

There are rumors that something went wrong with the teleporation devices when the prisoners tried using them, and a couple Black and White Makuta leaked out of some alternate dimensions. What a load of junk, huh?

Well, anyway, good luck surviving. I've told you all I can. Hope to see you in the free world, mate.

Rules

• BZP Rules apply, obviously.
• No god-modding (e.g. controlling someone else's character, having your character do something impossible). And if someone god-mods against you, don't do it back, tell a Prisonbreak Mod.
• This is a Text-Based RPG, so to join in you post what is basically a miniature story for what is currently happening to your character.
• Use IC for In-Character and OOC for Out-Of-Character.
e.g.:
IC: The Toa leapt from ledge to ledge, seeking the rogue Rahi.

OOC: Hey Randommember1, care to join in?
• Don't bunny (meaning control extensively) other peoples characters without their permission.
• Don't kill anothers character without permission.
• Unlimited Characters.
• No silliness such as suddenly turning everyone's swords into feather dusters and having a tickle-off. Believe me, it's not as funny as you think.
• Don't glory hog or continuously degrade someone else's character.
• Along with current restrictions you are not allowed any unreasonable elements (Life, Creation, or Time) and all characters are incapable of performing Nova Blasts. Light and Shadow are allowed, but only if you have a good enough reason deemed fit by a majority of the Prisonbreak mods. Custom species are allowed, but custom elements aren't. Current unusable masks are the Komau, Avohkii, Kraahkan, Mask of Creation, Mask of Elemental Energy, Aki, Rua, or any Kanohi Nuva.

Credit to The Power That Is for the above rules (with some modifications).

IC: "Right," she said, not really processing that last part.

As they made their way out of the base, through a few more confrontations and battles (in which Riaril showed almost suprising competence), she began to wonder who Dorian was going to meet up with.

"Who're we meeting with, then?" she asked, as they fought their way out into the open. "More hitmen, some prisoners, what?"

IC: "Kellin?" Cipher asked, thrown off by the lack of a response. "You with me?" he asked, waving a hand in front of the slightly elder Toa's face.

IC: Dorian

Dorian set foot in Hagah, scanning the forest for any immediate signs of movement. Almost absentmindedly, he processed Riaril's question.

"Kellin," he said half-heartedly, seeing a flash of grey in the forest and moving towards it.

IC: Kellin

Kellin's eyes shifted towards the forest, slanting as he saw a glint of red.

"Dorian," he said, going for his sword.

IC: "Okay, then..." she said, a little unsure of what to think. They soon neared the forest, about to enter--

Suddenly, a Silver and Navy figure burst out of the trees, lunging towards Dorian at top speed with a battle cr-- "AGRblrblrglglblnbllebuh"

Said figure was intercepted, quickly hit in the face with a jet of water from a nearby river, sizeable and with enough pressure to stop him dead and fling him back into a tree trunk.

"Cool it, Sugar." Riaril said, using her pet name for the normally sweet kid.

"Blrggl-" He said, sputtering and coughing, lungs still unused to breathing both water and air.

"We're on your side, okay?" she reassured him, giving a playful little wink at the Toa.

"Gluh?" he responded, confused. After all, didn't he just send Dorian into her care?

IC: Cipher stared at the keys in his lap.

He directed his gaze at Riaril.

A shrug.

He turned it to Dorian.

"What?"

"Look, Dorian, why don't we join them?" Riaril asked, idea popping into her head. "after all, news is gonna spread of your defection. There's safety in numbers, they've got your weapons, and then we make sure they don't do anything stupid with those keys." she explained.

"What stupid things could we do with these?" Cipher asked, standing and walking towards the other two Toa.

"I dunno, but they've gotta be important if Dorian felt like taking them, right?"

"Makes sense. Sure, we could use another good fighter and a good medic anyway. C'mon, join us!" Cipher said, flashing a fanged grin in approval.

They both looked expectantly at the Toa of Fire.

OOC: Choose wisely, Dorian.

"Big bomb," Ria explained, anticipating the kid's question. "really big. like 'Wipe out this entire friggin' island' big." she said, glancing at the bandana-clad Toa.

"Oh. Yeah, sounds like something you'd wanna keep track of." Cipher said, slightly paling at the destructive explosion in his mind's eye.

"All the more reason to join, right? And besides, you need something to treat that Zamor wound, right? There's a better chance if we join them that I'll be able to find something to treat it, rather than we go on our own."

IC Ikod:

Ikod ran through a hallway, he passed a large dead figure, Vezok. He stared at the body for a second, then ran away toward the tunnels that led to Hagah. He eventually made it to these tunnels. He took memories from people who saw where the others had run off too, and he found out Cipher was with them, as well as that Doctor Toa.

He could only get as far as the open, and from there, he had to search through forest. He could take VERY rough memories from Rahi, but they were full of instinctual thoughts, not much visual.

He eventually got on a trail, and before he knew it, he came upon tracks and broken branches, and other signs of something that wasn't a Rahi. He spotted figures in the distance, and he ran towards them, sure enough, it was the guys, or, people he knew.

He came up behind them without warning, asking, "Can someone please explain to me why Vezok is dead?" He waited for a stunned response, or some attack by Cipher, he could only hope they wouldn't just kill him because they thought he was one of Vezok's servants.

OOC: Ah! Wait for the rest of us! Tongue

IC Trip:

By now all the escapees had met up in the forest, near the tunnels. Trip had his two new recruits, the matoran and the Vortixx, welcomed to the group. The sun had already risen high into the sky and Ath returned soon afterwards- no sign of Ikod anywhere. Trip turned to one their makeshift leaders.

"Well, Kellin, what now? He's as good as dead at this point- I don't suppose Ikod will just appear out of the-"

And at that moment, the disgruntled android was interrupted by a very familiar figure running in form the trees, mumbling exasperatedly about a nuke. Trip soon realized that Dorian, and his new toa companion, were well aware of the information that Trip had divulged earlier at the database. He was about to reassure Kellin that they were talking about the same bomb, when Ikod appeared out of the blue.

Trip felt someone elbow him and mutter, "What were you about to say?"

"Oh shut it, I've been wrong before..." replied Trip in the general direction of the accusation. "..I think."

Trip glanced at Cipher, who looked extremely put off, gripping his sword tightly. Trip knew all about his earlier confrontation with Dorian, and quietly decided to keep his eyes on Cipher and step in if anything happened... And it seemed that something would happen, based on Dorian's commanding tone. He knew very well that none of the cold, toughed prisoners enjoyed being bossed around.

"Shouldn't someone go with him? With his sense of direction and all..." Riaril trailed off, glancing between the others hand the vanishing figure, who was already meandering off in a vaguely forward path.

IC--Vvrynthios--

Vvrynthios's sense of rationality had abandoned him. He felt but a shell, his soul wandering blindly far, far from his body, leaving him hollow and mindless. Loss was foreign to him. Loss robbed him of pride.

Of himself.

A rasp emerged from his throat, though the words did not first pass through his mind. They found their way through the empty air of their own accord, a somber whisper that echoed a hopelessness even the Steltian himself could not fathom.

"Kill me, Kellin."

The words were not his, but as they crawled from his mouth they became him. He found meaning, the only purpose left to him. He had found Destiny, and Destiny enraged him, burst through him with a fervent, unwavering fury. His breathing became rapid, his body no longer inanimate. Adrenaline ceased the flow of blood and supplied energy no individual can summon of his own will. He lurched up, sliced his broadsword through the bleak tunnel air, sprinted madly after Kellin. His eyes were twin blazing furies.

"Kill me, Kellin!"

Trip was about to reply to Dorian, and tell him the whereabouts of the last key, when of to the distance he heard shouting, and looked over towards the forest. Vvyrnthios had lost his mind, and he was running at Kellin with his sword out. Trip spun around, kicked off fromt he ground, and sprinted towards the two in a mad dash.

"Kill me, Kellin!" The words barely phased Trip, having seen many a Toa lose their mind. But this was unprovoked, or at least it seemed. The Steltian had gotten much closer and Kellin was already launching a counterattack in surprise.

Trip let out a mad yell and dove at Vvrynthios, knocking him off his feet.

"Oh no you don't!"

They crashed to the ground next to Kellin, whose attack missed. The android was wrestling the crazed Steltian into submission, and held his arms at his sides.

"What the Karz is the meaning of this?!" Yelled Trip between gasps of air.

OOC: All aboard the mental breakdown express, toot toot!

IC Trip:

Trip stared at the lifeless body in his arms, mouth agape, taking in what just happened. There was silence, save for Kellin's heavy breathing. Trip watched as Vvrynthios's heartlight flickered and died, his eyes going dark. Trip's blue glow reflected lightly off of his dead comrade's armor, obscured by an erratic pattern of blood.

Death had never hazed the android before... not after he lost all that it meant to be alive. By then he had given up on having friends- like before, he remembered that relationships came with too many consequences, if only he could remember what he felt before- but he could not. The memory was erased, as were many others. It slowly dawned on Trip that after so many years of suppressing his fears and emotions, there was nothing left. That which he had once loved was gone- and so was any memory of her. It was only the idea that remained, only the faint outline which he could no longer identify...

As a convict, a criminal, an assassin, a spy- he had never thought twice about taking a life. It was all business, all for gain, all for a cause- and all strangers. But here, now- he knew this prisoner, endured the same tortures as him, fought the same battles on the way to freedom- survival! And here, now, he was dead- killed by his own ally. Reckless. Selfish. Primitive. Cruel.

Nobody could be trusted, and allies could turn at any moment.

Trip still hadn't moved, although he registered the faint sounds of commotion back at the encampment. Life, Trip knew, could be taken for granted- for here he was, a shell of his former self, no longer truly alive but more powerful than ever before. Death, on the other hand... death was sacred. It was no simple matter...

Kellin had moved away by now, but he couldn't hear what he was saying. Were there others? Trip didn't notice. Suddenly another flashback entered his mind- a face, a beautiful face, motionless- he erased the memory. Gone. Moments later he remembered something else- standing by a barren tree, the dirt underneath it shifted, used to bury- gone, erased. He would not allow himself to be haunted by these thoughts any longer. Suddenly- standing in a fortress, he looked out of the window at the ground below, where the mangled body of- gone.

Trip sat motionless like this, completely detached from the world, his mind collapsing in on itself. Gone, gone, gone. All of it, gone, and he was unable to break out of the loop he was in, long-forgotten memories of friends and comrades, of war and love- gone. All of them flooded his mind, and all of them he eradicated. Gone. He was tuck in an endless loop, unable to break free, staring at the dead Vvrytnthios in his arms- although his eyes could not see him.

Slowly, in the world outside of himself, the sun was slowly trudging downwards across the sky.

IC Ikod:

Ikod watched as Kellin killed a fellow Prisoner on spot. He couldn't bare himself to feel Vvryn's life slip away, and his mental presence fade. He clenched a fist, and heaved a sigh, tearing his eyes away from the dead body. He felt emotions all around, sympathy, anger, confusion, all mixed around.

He let his hands relax, and then crafted three stone domes with one window, and a door. "We can sleep in these... it's better than any foliage," he said, walking into one of the huts.

IC Kpik:

Kpik stared at the dead Steltian, for a whole minute or two, and then he looked away. A lingering thought in his head was that his death was his fault, he had caused him that pain that was so great, killing him was better than letting him live.

It was HIS bullets that brought the warrior to his ultimate fate, and doom. One thing he couldn't get straight was that there was a Karzzing MEDIC right next to them. Someone with a mask of HEALING, he didn't deserve to be killed, he didn't deserve it, he could have been saved, but Kellin was just to stupid and blind to see that.

He forced himself not to shoot Kellin, even though the thought was in his mind, stuck there, as his next action, he had to just breathe, and think of nothing else but showing Kellin the pain he had just inflicted upon Vvrynthios.

"There's... there's a medic here, with a mask of healing... why... why couldn't you let her save him? Hm? Why, Kellin?" he asked, obviously holding back great rage and anger.

IC Raeir:

Raeir sat down on the ground, and tried to clear his head, he didn't believe what had just happened, he refused to accept it. Instead, he stood up, and walked away from the group, back to the hole where he would find Elf.

Hopping down into it, he began to search around for his friend.

IC: Kellin

Kellin turned to Kpik, suddenly wrapped up in his OWN fury and grief. "There's a lot that you don't know about me, Kpik, and maybe that's my fault, but in my life, I've come to understand this: to a soldier like his, wounds go far beyond physical when he loses a duel like that. His pride died, and he wanted to die with it. You can shoot me if you want, but he wanted to die, and I owed him that much. Why are you blaming me, anyway? You killed him."

IC: Feyrren

Feyrren gulped. "Uh...what just happened?" whispered the Vortixx to Einhver.
